Pin Connectors (Dupont, Mini-PV, Berg)

Dupont connectors are used in electronics for making jumper wire connections. They are commonly used in breadboards and other prototyping tools. For example, a hobbyist building a DIY robot might use Dupont connectors to connect various sensors to a microcontroller.
People often call PCB pin strips, un-shrouded female PCB headers, and un-shrouded female plugs "Dupont"; however these incredibly common 0.1" pitch, 0.025" square pin headers have gone and continue to go through many different names such as “AMPMODU”, “Mini-PV”, and “Berg”.

History:
These connectors are first made by , founded in 1946
Berg is bought by DuPont (the same company that makes chemicals)
In 1993, DuPont sells to a . DuPont now only makes the
In 1998, HM Capital Partners sells Berg to Framatome Connectors International (FCI)
In 2016, FCI sold to Amphenol
Now, Amphenol calls these connectors "Mini-PV Basics"
In the meanwhile, lots of other companies make the same connectors, and "DuPont" becomes a , just like Kleenex. For example, AMP made its AMPMODU series, and later AMP was sold to Tyco, now TE.
